Boulder Elementary School is using digital portfolios for all students, creating a computer-based collection of student performance over time.  The digital portfolios  make classroom learning more accessible to parents.

The digital portfolios are a living, visual record of student competencies and are aligned to the common core state standards.  They provide parents with access to private portfolios that give insight into their child’s experience, tracking classwork and assessments as well as showcasing projects and work.

Parents receive an email invitation to their child’s digital portfolio from Sesame, the digital platform we are using in school.  Please take time to explore your child’s portfolio, assistance is available upon request.

Please notify the school through email, home connections notebook, telephone, or a written note if your child will be absent.

The school must be notified by 9:00 AM on the day of the absence if due to illness or death of a family member, or prior to day of absence if a planned event or appointment.

Students are marked Tardy after 8:35 AM. .

Students are marked as Half Day if they arrive aver 9:00 AM or before 3:00 PM.

Children are not to attend school if they are ill or have been ill in the past twenty-four hours.

It is the parents’ responsibility to alert the teacher if their child is on medication, if medication needs to be administered while the child is at school, or has a health issue that the school should be in the know.

All medications and supplements need to be given to the teacher directly and not stored in book bags, or lunches. Parents must also complete and turn in a Medication Authorization Form prior if any medications or supplements are administered during school.

The district policy is that children not attend school if they have had any of the following in the past twenty-four hours:
 Fever of 100°F or higher without the use of a fever reducing agent
 Strep throat (must be taking an antibiotic for at least twenty-four hours before returning to school)
